Interfaces
Choose how each team talks to Tabs.
Tabs separates what the platform does (the modules) from how people and systems get to it (the interfaces). Engineers live in the mobile app. Requestors live in the web portal. Operations live in Core. Finance and BMS talk via the API. You only licence what each team actually needs.

Understanding the interfaces.

What is the difference between a Tabs module and a Tabs interface?
A module is a piece of functionality — reactive maintenance, PPM, assets, compliance, room bookings and so on. An interface is how a person or another system reaches that functionality. The same PPM task can be raised in Core, approved in the Web portal, completed on the Go mobile app and reported into a finance system through the API.- Core. It is the full CAFM and CMMS management console for estates, facilities and helpdesk teams — job management, PPM scheduling, asset registers, contractor control, compliance evidence, workflow configuration and reporting all sit here.
- Web is a mobile-optimised browser-based portal for requesters, approvers, reviewers and contractors. It is deliberately simple: log a job, track progress, approve work or quotes, upload documents and view your own history. Self-service users are unlimited, so you do not pay per seat for the whole organisation.
- Engineers use Go, the native iOS and Android app. It works fully offline in plant rooms and remote sites, captures photos, signatures, readings, asset updates and SFG20 task results, and synchronises automatically when a connection returns.
- Display drives live dashboards on large screens for control rooms, helpdesks and shared workspaces — open jobs, SLA performance and compliance status. Signage runs on meeting room door screens, showing live availability and allowing ad-hoc bookings that write straight back into Tabs.
- Through Tabs integrations, covered separately from the interfaces: two-way Outlook calendar sync for meeting room and resource bookings, plus connectors and services for finance, HR, BMS and bespoke systems.
Do I have to licence every interface for every user?
No. Licensing follows the interface each team actually needs. Operational staff take Core or Go licences, while requesters, approvers and contractors use the unlimited Web portal at no per-seat cost. Integration interfaces are configured per system rather than per user. Can users move between interfaces with the same account?
Yes. Permissions, sites and data visibility are held centrally against the user, so the same account behaves consistently in Core, Web and Go — and with SSO enabled, users sign in with their existing corporate credentials.
